A man who r.a.p.e.d an 11-year-old girl while her family was letting him
stay in their home during lockdown has been jailed for eight years.
The 24-year-old man was in Rio Negro, south-western Argentina, when
their town went into strict lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic.
He was unable to return home to the city of La Plata due to the
quarantine and so the woman who was hosting him allowed him to stay with
her family, reports said.
But the man r.a.p.e.d her young daughter at least three times during the almost two month period he stayed with the family.
The victim, whose name cannot be reported for legal reasons, told a
court the man took advantage of the moments when her mother was sleeping
to abuse her s.e.x.ually and r.a.p.e her.
The man initially tried to deny the accusations against him, according to InfoBae.
But local media reported the man confessed in front of a local court
that he had r.a.p.e.d the girl after a medical exam found injuries to
the victim’s body.
The medical exam determined the young girl had been r.a.p.e.d at least three times.
Reports say the man was left with no choice but to accept responsibility due to the amount of evidence against him.
The mother had filed a criminal complaint saying he’d r.a.p.e.d her
daughter in May before Bariloche prosecutor Cesar Lanfranchi launched an
investigation.
An arrest warrant was immediately issued against the accused.
