Following this latest development, student leaders had already declared a three-day mourning for four students.
The four students died after their bus, with an inscription of the
Redeemed Christian Fellowship (RCF), a student religious body under the
affiliate of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), veered off the
road in an attempt to avoid a speedy motorcyclist recklessly driving on
the wrong side of the road.
The accident occurred at the notorious Ibule/Igbara Oke Junction in Ifedore Local Government Area (LGA) of Ondo State.
The FUTA Students Union Government President claimed in the statement
obtained by SaharaReporters correspondent in Akure, that the late
students were on a “private journey” to Ibadan, the Oyo State capital,
to participate in a missionary conference shortly after they had
attended a vigil at the Redeemed Christian Fellowship (RCF) on the
campus.
In an electronic statement issued on Saturday night by
the President of the Students Union Government (SUG) of the
institution, Olusegun Oladele, said the declaration of the three days
mourning was to pay their respect for the soul of the departed students
who lost their lives in the horrific auto crash.
